Why Study Management, Bachelor of Science in Business at Shawnee University

You'll learn to lead, not just to manage. The curriculum focuses on communication, problem-solving, team dynamics, and ethical decision-making — the skills you actually use as a leader.

Pick the format that fits your life. The same degree is offered fully online or on campus in Portsmouth. The coursework, faculty, and credential are the same either way. An internship is built in.

You'll complete at least one required internship with a regional business, and you can do a second one for elective credit. Both build your resume and your network.

Faculty bring leadership experience into the classroom. Your professors have run teams, departments, and organizations — and that experience shows up in the way they teach.

Tuition is among the lowest in Ohio. The Shawnee Advantage Tuition Guarantee keeps your rate flat for four years.

The Management B.S.B. includes 33 hours of business core, 18 hours of management-specific coursework, and electives — giving you a full foundation in how businesses operate plus deeper work in leadership and strategy.

  • Business core: Financial & Managerial Accounting, Legal Environment of Business, Microeconomics & Macroeconomics, Management Principles, Marketing Principles, Business Finance, Professional Communication & Development
  • Management major: Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Business Ethics

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
